Janakkala Open Individual Championship

GENERAL

In the final run there is only one class, one run. Course is designed by the judge and all the obstacles may be in use. Height categories are international FCI classes: small (S), medium (M) and large (L).  The jump heights are the equivalent lowest jump heights by the Finnish national rules:

Small – 20cm                    Medium – 30cm                    Large –  50cm.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE FINAL

Janakkala Open Final is for maximum of 60 dogs per height category:

  • Class 1 – 10 teams

  • Class 2 – 20 teams

  • Class 3 – 30 teams.

The national height categories for Extra Small and Small AND Small Large and Large run the same official qualification courses. The combined results for those jump height categories will be formed by those runs. These combined results will define the teams that are eligible to run the final run classes for Small and Large.

RUNNING ORDER IN THE FINAL RUN

The running order for the Janakkala Open Final will be published Saturday night after the official qualification runs are completed. The spots for the Janakkala Open Final will be distributed in proportion to the amount of runners for the two qualification runs during Friday and Saturday. The Janakkala Open Final will be a separate unofficial competition on Sunday as a grande finale for the entire weekend.

Janakkala Open 2018 Team Competition

GENERAL

Competition will be run as a team relay competition. A “European Open” style relay competition in one ring, teams are starting in separate parts of the ring and each team run their own part of the course designed by the judge(s). The team’s combined result will define the winner.

TEAM COMPOSITION

Each team is consisted of four (4) dog+handler teams by the same height category. A reserve dog can be signed in by the time of registration. Otherwise the team composition is free – the teams does not have to be representing same club or nation or breed.The only restriction forming the teams is that they have to be in the height category.

RUNNING ORGANIZING

Each team (dog+handler) run their own part of the course and the next team (dog+handler) can begin their part of the run immediately when the previous has finished their part. The course will be published at the place of event on Saturday morning. The team can decide their running order after the course design is published by the time the organizer informs. If the team does not provide the organizer with  the running order before the deadline, the runs will be done by the order of the dgs in the registration.

RESULTS

The result of the all four dogs will be summed up for the teams result.
A disqualification will add a 25 points each (3rd refusal, off course obstacle). A 3rd refusal of a dog will reset the  2 refusals and a total of 25 points will be added for the result. Each obstacle must be done on the course for the entire four dog team to be able to have a result! Eg. weaves must have been completed by the rules before continuing the course, a wrong side jump must be jumped from the right direction etc.
